The 15th IACTA 2012 conference held at New Delhi was an excitingly enjoyable platform which successfully was not just a speaker based convention, but involved two way participation from the audience as well, showing an exceptional endeavor. We thank everyone who was involved in making IACTA 2012 a grand success.
Some of the sessions were very constructive at the same time others were challenging, but all embodied a fantastic collegial spirit, generating new discussion, valuable interaction and timely initiative under the theme "Recent Advances in Cardiac Anaesthesia in an Eco-friendly way". The scientific quality of IACTA was superb and new knowledge was shared, especially by our colleagues to understand both congenital and adult cardiac disease on both local and global level and to learn both the similarities and differences in the disease and its many facets.
We are pleased that people have had the chance to enjoy themselves at this meeting. Apart from the enriching scientific discussion, another highlight was the pool area, around which the lunches and the dinners with a cultural program took place. It was a popular location leading to the lobby and coffee area for a variety of side meetings and collaborations. The poster area was just above the lobby and was well visited. Posters on interesting subjects like central venous oxygenation, haemodynamic monitoring and premedication with Dexmedetomidine deserve special mention.
This summary would not be complete without mention of the Gala dinner at Garden of Five Senses with flowers and diya's bringing in the Ecofriendly theme of the conference and Piano music at its backdrop by none other than Maestro Brian Silas. The enriched Delhi food was as cherishing as the cultural event at Kingdom of Dreams.
Indeed- the meeting has been very successful.
Yet, as is normal, some mistakes were made, some things could be improved, and feedback from those who attended, is very welcome. We are always learning and always improving- and your thoughts on this year's meeting are essential for future scientific and organizational success.
